Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Ocean Import Coordinator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for routing, rating, monitoring, and coordinating international shipments, specifically focusing on ocean import/export, from pick-up through to delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete order processing, coordination, and monitoring of ocean freight shipments.
  • Directly engage with clients, vendors, overseas stations, and agents to ensure the efficient movement of cargo.
  • Determine the most profitable mode of shipment while meeting customer requirements for freight movement.
  • Control and manage transports (pre- and on-carriage) for ocean freight shipments in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Prepare necessary documents for the completion of the export, import, and customs clearance process.
  • Track and trace cargo to ensure proper movement and delivery.
  • Populate proper billing and cost information in TMF for accurate invoicing and job costing.
  • Maintain close contact and collaboration with the team and supervisor; escalate issues to the supervisor as needed.
  • Adhere to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including a minimum number of handled jobs per operator.
  • Ensure compliance with operational KPIs related to DNI, LNR, ROTP, Pre-alerts, Credit Notes, POD Latency, Milestones, etc.
  • Participate in mandatory internal/external training, including timely completion of Crane University (E-Learning) courses.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of rules, regulations, governance, and documentation preparations for both imports and exports.
  • Demonstrated fast, efficient, and reliable work ethic.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills due to the high volume and demands of the position.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Knowledge of dangerous goods handling.
  • Understanding of FCPA regulations.
  • Understanding of International Trade Regulations.
  • Minimum of 3 years of industry experience at a similar level.
  • Completed Apprenticeship for forwarding and logistics or similar.
